Abū ʿAlī al-Ḥusayn ibn Sīnā (also known in the West as Avicenna (980 - 1037 CE)) was one of the most influential Islamic polymaths in history. He authored the book "Al-Qanun fi al-Tibb" (medical law), which has been the foundation textbook of medical colleges across Europe for over 600 years. In philosophy, his book "Kitab al-Shifa" (The Book of Healing) interprets the existence of God (The Necessary Existent - Wajib al-Wujud) using strong logical reasoning and shows that the Creator is the origin of all things in the universe.
