Abu Hamid al-Ghazali (born 1058 - d. 1111) is known as "Hujjat al-Islam" (Evidence of Islam). He was a scholar of Akhidafik and Tasawwuf (Tasawwuf - the purity of the heart). "Ihya Ulum al-Din" 's greatest work (Revival of Islamic Science) connects the practice of external law (Fiqh) with the pursuit of peace and love for the inner God (Sufism). He reminded the world to get rid of pride and attachment to the world and turn their hearts to knowing themselves and to know God.
