" And Muhammad said: "O my people, if you build a house that is consecrated to the Lord, you will never be able to protect it from the evildoers". The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "O Abu 'Isa (may Allaah be pleased with him), the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to cut off the necks of the Prophet and his brothers, so that they could be kept in peace, and that they would not be harmed by the blood of the people who had been slain".

And Abu Bakr ibn al-Nadar ibn Abi al-Nasr, said, "Hashem ibn Qasim told me about Abu Aqeel, the companion of Baha'u'llah, said I was sitting beside Qasim ibn 'Abd Allah and Yahya ibn Saeed said, 'There is no one in the world who has ever seen anything more sacred than that which you have seen in the hands of your Lord, because there is nothing in the heavens and the earth that is sacred to you than what you see in your hands.'"

And Bishr the son of the ruler, my servant, said, I have heard Sophyan the son, of Aena, say, Tell me of my father, Aqeel, the owner of a house, that he was a son of a servant of God, son of Omr. They asked him about something he had no knowledge of, and he answered them, saying, "I have seen what you have done to me, and I have promised you that I will do it to you".

And we spoke to Amro the son of Ali the father of Hafs, and he said, I heard Ja'ha ibn Sa'id, he said: I asked Sufian the bull, and Shuba'a, and Malik, and bin A'iman, about the man who is not steadfast in the story, and the man comes to me and asks me about him. They said, "Behold, I am a man of faith".

Ubayd Allah bin Sa’īd narrated to us, he said, I heard an-Naḍr saying: ‘Ibn Awn was asked about the Ḥadīth of Shahr and he was standing at the threshold of the door, so said: ‘Indeed they criticized Shahr, indeed they criticized Shahr’. Muslim, may Allah have mercy on him, said ‘He means- the tongues of men were busy criticizing him’.’

Hajjāj bin ush-Shā’ir narrated to me, Shabābah narrated to us, he said, Shu’bah said: ‘I had met Shahr then abandoned transmitting from him’.

Muhammad bin Abd Allah bin Quhzādh, from the people of Marw, narrated to me, he said Alī bin Husayn bin Wāqid informed me, he said Abd Allah bin al-Mubārak said, I said to Sufyān ath-Thawrī: ‘Indeed Abbād bin Kathīr, about whose condition you are aware, when he related said: ‘So when I was in an assembly and Abbād was mentioned there, I praised him regarding his Dīn and said: ‘Do not take from him.’ Muhammad said, Abd Allah bin Uthmān narrated to us, he said, my father said, Abd Allah bin al-Mubārak said: ‘I ended up in an assembly of Shu’bah, and he said: ‘This is Abbād bin Kathīr so be warned against him.’

Al-Faḍl bin Sahl narrated to me, he said, I asked Mu’allā ar-Rāzī about Muhammad bin Sa’īd whom Abbād transmitted from, so he informed me about what Īsā bin Yūnus said: ‘I was at his door and Sufyān was with about him. So he informed me that he was a liar.’

And Muhammad ibn Abi Attaab told me, said 'Afan, about Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Saeed al-Katan, about his father, said, "We have never seen good people in anything more lying than they are in the story". Ibn Attaab said: "I found that I am Muhammad, who protects them, and whoever is asked about them, he will give it to them in their own hands".

Behal the son of Saleh told me, he told us, Zaid the son, of Aaron, told me of the caliph of Moses' son, he said, "I entered into the kingdom of the sons of the servants of God, and he made me king over them, and I became a drunkard, I became an alcoholic, I took the cup in my hand, and the cup was set in the hand of the man who was in the house of the Lord, and it was in his hand, as if it were in his own hand".

Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Qahzaz, narrated that I heard 'Abdullah ibn 'Uthman ibn Jubalāh, say, "I said to 'Abdu'l-Allah ibn al-Mubarak who is this man of whom you saw, that 'Abdillah ibn Amr said, 'On the day when the Prophet will come to you, he will ask you what you have seen, and he will tell you what he has seen in your house, and what he will say to you.'
